Mr. Kishor Mehta was born on 16th October, 1938 in Mumbai to Kirtilal Manilal and Lilavati Mehta. By April 1954 Mr. Mehta finished 1st class at Fellowship School . By 1956 the young Mr. Mehta was studying Electrical Engineering at Technische Hochschule, in Stuttgart. He again finished 1st class and made frequent trips to Antwerp, Belgium during this period to see his father who had settled there. In June 1964, after eight years in Germany Mr. Mehta returned to Mumbai to join his fathers diamond and Jewellery business. On December 5th 1965, Mr. Mehta married Charu Mehta, they have 3 children together that now run the families holdings.

Mr. & Mrs. Mehta are credited alongside Mr. Mehta’s father as the pioneers that setup the Lilavati Kirtilal Manilal Mehta Trust which manages the famed Lilavati Hospital. Mr Mehta’s father made Kishor & Charu Mehta as the permanent trustees for life & tasked them with bringing to reality his vision for the hospital.

The family’s hospital is widely regarded as the top multi speciality hospital & research centre in India. The hospital was setup in Mr. Mehta’s mothers name, it is a charitable institution that provides healthcare for the poor free of charge and also Mumbai’s elite. Mr & Mrs Mehta remain active in various charitable causes. They have during this Covid crisis created a team of people to give free meals to the under privileged & poor people in the State of Maharashtra.
